Munaf Patel appointed Delhi Capitals 2025 IPL bowling coach
The Delhi Capitals franchise has officially announced the appointment of World Cup-winning fast bowler Munaf Patel as their new bowling coach, as confirmed on Tuesday, November 12. Munaf will be part of a support staff led by Venugopal Rao, the Director of Cricket, and Hemang Badani, the head coach.
Earlier this year, the franchise ended its long-standing association with head coach Ricky Ponting, subsequently entrusting the new coaching team of Rao and Badani with the task of assembling the remaining support staff.
Munaf Patel will take on a position that was formerly occupied by James Hopes. In addition to his contributions to the Indian national team across all three formats, Munaf has played 63 matches in the Indian Premier League, representing teams such as Rajasthan Royals, Mumbai Indians, and Gujarat Lions, where he claimed 74 wickets at an economy rate of 7.51. His last appearance in the IPL was in 2017.
